Built in the 19th century, this luxurious palace nestles on a hilltop overlooking the River Tagus. Tucked away in Lisbon's diplomatic quarter, the Olissippo Lapa Palace is set in beautiful subtropical gardens, with the city centre a short drive away. Guests can relax by the pool on a sun lounger or get totally pampered in the hotel's spa. The guest-rooms are sumptuous and some are housed in the main building, including the Count of Valenças suite, which is part of the original palace ballroom. The Lapa restaurant specialises in traditional Italian cuisine and is considered one of the best eateries in Lisbon.
